Police Scotland is appealing for information from the public following a serious road crash on the A760 on Monday 28 May.

Around 8.35 pm yesterday evening a motorcyclist, who was travelling westbound along Cochrane Street (A760) collided with a black Audi A1 at the junction with Glasgow Street.

Emergency services attended and the 52 year-old rider of the motorcycle was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

The driver of the Audi was uninjured.

The road was closed for around six hours whilst enquiries were carried out.

Sergeant John Denholm, Irvine Road Policing Unit, said:

“This incident has left a man with critical injuries in hospital. It is vital we find out exactly what happened.

“Cochrane Street is one of the main routes in and out of Kilbirnie and therefore there would have been people in the area at the time.

“We are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area and either seen the collision take place, or witnessed the motorbike or the black Audi A1 prior to the incident.

“We would also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cam footage that could assist us in our enquiries."

Anyone with information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 4084 of Monday 28 May 2018.
