A LOCAL attraction has been named the best family venue at the Scottish Hospitality awards.
Beating out competition from the likes of Edinburgh Dungeons, St Andrew Aquarium and Five Sister Zoo, it was Kelburn Castle which came out on top.
Kelburn’s General Manager, Jared Bowers said: “At Kelburn we go the extra mile to create a magical, immersive experience.
“It’s not about sitting around being entertained, we encourage our visitors to get outside and get involved.
“We run a series of special events every year that feature a team of incredible performers, special events, music and involve an educational message based in natural surroundings.
“Between these special events and our unique play areas for children, the absolutely stunning natural landscapes of the estate and our dedicated team, I think we have created a venue that we are quite proud of and feel it offers a fantastic day our for the families.”
The hospitality awards acknowledge the success of local professionals and establishments from restaurants and hotels to festivals and venues that stand out due to their dedication to customers.
Carlton Seamill in West Kilbride was also named the South West’s Bed and Breakfast of the Year.
The black-tie event was hosted by STV radio presenter Zara Janjua as she welcomed the talented business and recognised their efforts it ensuring their guests enjoy themselves.
This was the third Scottish Hospitality Awards and welcomed 200 guests to the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Tuesday May 29.
The awards also provided the opportunity to raise funds for the official charity partner, The Well foundation, which provides safe clean drinking water to countries in need.
