A previous drone flying incident at the Viking Festival has led to warnings to the public this year that the flying machines are 'strictly prohibited' from this year's event.
During the 2016 festival in Largs, members of the festival committee raised the alarm with the police regarding a drone being flown overhead around 45-50 minute before the Crop Duster plane display was due to take place.
The owner was quickly traced near Aubery, and was 'very co-operative' following the incident, as police assured the public that at no time was there any danger to the aircraft.
With a rise of drone incidents taking place around the country since the flying devices have become more widely available, the festival are taking all precautions.
The promotional leaflets for the festival state: "For reasons of safety, the flying of drones in the vicinity of festival locations is strictly prohibited."
