The Largs Viking Festival finished in spectacular style at the weekend with pyrotechnics perfection, Viking battles, and an awesome Red Devils parachute display on Largs seafront.
It was the perfect finish to the 38th year old festival which attracted tens of thousands of visitors to the area.
Resident Ian Dippie said: "A big shout of thanks for all involved in the Viking Festival. It’s been a pretty good week for all involved, The parade, Vikings, the Viking Village, air display and Red Devils, fairground, the entertainers, fireworks and even the “old fashioned music” as someone commented!
"A great close of summer event for the town, well done to the hardworking, “invisible” committee who spend many many hours planning and organising the festivities for the benefit of our town. Maybe you can put your feet up!"

Largs and Millport Weekly News:
On Saturday, it was the traditional 'Viking Festival of Fire' at Broomfields
It was a beautiful night for a great Viking skirmish!
As well as a fire dancer, there was the annual longship burning rounded off with an out of this world fireworks display which provided a dazzling finish to Saturday's festivities.
But it was far from being all over as Sunday brought the Red Devils parachute regiment and just as 3pm approach, a mixed day of scattered showers changed yet again in the nick of time as brilliant blue skies and sunshine greeted the amazing show as the parachutists landed on Largs seafront swirling in circular motions around the sky before their triumphant finish.
As well as live music on the Viking Festival main stage area with the likes of Reely Jiggered, Gallowgate Square was also set up by the Largs Events group for the performance of Cassien, fresh from their live show at the Fairlie Gala of a few weeks ago.
And proceedings were brought together in fitting fashion by Largs Churches Together at 4pm on Sunday and it was certainly a case of 'Songs of Praise' for one and all involved in the Viking Festival, which once more, showcased Largs.

Largs and Millport Weekly News:
A delighted chairman of the festival committee Alex Gallagher said: "It was fabulous. All the spectaculars attracted big crowds, and we got steady support throughout the week too.
"The Red Devils going ahead was touch and go, It was 50/50.
"We had to take executive decision for the plane to take off and they did a couple of runs around to make sure it was ok.
"It paid off as it was really spectacular. We are turning out multiples of the population in terms of visitors which is very heartening.
"If that is a routine for the Red Devils then they must be the bravest people in the world - jumping out of an aeroplane, and handing in the sea - they are just fabulous people.
"We had a lot of positive comments, and we are trying to make improvements year on year. The board of the Viking Festival are very delighted and very pleased with the success of the festival."
