Give Largs Post Office banking service

Comments (2) | Print | Email

You may have heard that the government is holding a consultation on the future of banking at the Post Office.

The national Federation of Subpostmasters (NFSP) has produced a briefing for customers which is available at the Post Office for any interested parties. We are keen for the government to consider again the possibility of setting up a state-backed Postbank current account.

This would give customers a choice with their banking needs and help to sustain the Post Office network. There are several other suggestions for consideration which are outlined in the document.

I believe it's really important that the views of the people who actually use the post office are heard and would be happy to supply information.

People power really counts - please take time to respond to this consultation if you can. The closing date is 24 February. For more information please contact me on 01475686580.

I can't see why Largs could need this. There are plenty of proper banks, and in any case the new premises are grossly unsuitable for a post office, let alone anything else on top.

How about we start by giving banks banking services?
