The annual Fairlie Fireworks are set to take place once again this year at Fairlie Community Garden on Saturday 5 November. Organised by Fairlie Gala Committee, this is a well loved event in the village and one that local children especially look forward to each year.

Commenting Cllr Alan Hill, who is a member of the organising committee said, “We are delighted to be able to hold the annual fireworks event again this year and would like to thank Fairlie Community Garden for once again hosting us on the night. Leaflets are going home in school bags and will shortly be delivered around doors in the village confirming the timings for the evening.

The doors will open and the bonfire itself will be lit around 6pm with the event formally starting from around 7pm. The fireworks will then commence around 8pm, all weather permitting of course.

As usual we will be having a bar with various beverages, mulled wine and cider available as well as teas and coffees. For the younger ones the local youth club will have sweets and soft drinks as well as the ever popular glow toys. Any funds raised on the night are used to support the event or are donated to local village groups.

Finally, we are always looking for new committee members and have issued a special plea this year for some new faces to join our merry band of volunteers. If you are interested in coming along to help, please contact adhill@btconnect.com or telephone Alan on 07681 639 4284.
