The Village Hall was packed to the rafters last Wednesday, writes Elaine Campbell.
The festive lights on the Christmas Tree were switched on by Mr. Frank Donnachie, assisted by Luca de Jong and Laurie Smith. The evening started with the presentation of the Margaret Currie quaich to the Fairlie Young Citizen, which this year was awarded jointly Alexandra Harris and Rebecca Sharland. Both girls are members of the North Ayrshire Schools’ Band which recently won a gold award at the Scottish Concert Band Festival, and they have both been junior helpers at the Fairlie Drop-In Club. To finish off proceedings, everyone enjoyed some wonderful Christmas entertainment provided by Fairlie Primary’s P6/5 pupils and cello group.
Fairlie Community Association would like to thank everyone who went along, with special thanks to Frank Donnachie, Ann Tyler, Mrs McGinn and the pupils of Fairlie Primary for their contribution to the evening.
