New Year's Day certainly didn't disappoint and it was a big contrast to the weather experienced on Christmas Day.
Walkers and amateur photographers were out and about taking advantage of the sunshine.
Indeed, at Largs, there were plenty of visitors, with cafes and bars open, while many wrapped up and headed to Portencross. Some brave Millport folk even enjoyed a swim at Newton Beach, but wisely had wet suits on to keep their body temperature maintained in the bitterly cold waters.
Thanks to Louise Tait, Iain Dalglesh, George Crawford and Calum Corral for the photos.
George said: "Our ne'erday walk from the Pencil into Largs for a coffee was beautiful but bracing. However, everyone and their grannies seemed to be of the same mind and all the coffee shops were packed."
