Fairlie Village Hall pop-up bar was declared a success over Calcutta Cup weekend.
Cllr. Hill said: “Whilst the result in the game may have left a lot to be desired, the event in the village hall was a runaway success. The weekend demonstrated yet again what a great community spirit we have in Fairlie and I am delighted that so many local people came out to show their support.
The event was organised by Fairlie’s Gala and sports club committees who worked together to deliver it.
Cllr Hill continued, “This event arose from an original idea by Dave Creith and would not have happened at all without the very hard work and support from these two local groups and the volunteers who helped out over the weekend.
“I would also like to thank the residents of Fairlie for turning out in such large numbers to support the event.”
In further good news, the Village Inn also re-opened during the weekend under Gill Singh.
