A care home for disadvantaged children in Fairlie recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.

Radio Clyde DJ George Bowie came down to spin some discs as Curo Salus celebrated a decade at their Fairlie home on the Main Road.

has been given a glowing review by the Care Commission of Scotland having only been open for two years.

Curo Salus provides safe, therapeutic, caring environments for children who have attachment problems due to adverse circumstances and emotional trauma in their early years, and helps children regain trust in adults and to develop relationships with adults and other children. The teens come from different local authority areas in Scotland who pay for their stay at the facility. The children receive their schooling at North View School in Kilbarchan.

Grace said: "Each young person has a story to tell and they are now out helping in the community. These are children who had faced abandonment in their lives. It is great to see them develop. Some of the children at first have come to the Curo Salus home and need to learn the do's and don'ts. There have been difficult times at first. It is great to see how they are progressing and I am very proud of them."
