Remarkable historic photos of old Fairlie have surfaced on the internet.
Fiona McLean shared the photos on Facebook, and the pictures have received a great response from villagers.
The pictures shows residents relaxing and enjoying themselves on the beach.
The 'Fairlie beach belles' sporting bathing caps are enjoying a horse ride along the shore, with even a ukelele and a banjo on board for some additional musical entertainment.
Fiona's grandfather is pictured in the photo with the horse and cart. And near Fairlie Railway Station, there is a picture of geese walking along near where the current art studio sits, which used to be former stables for horses, geese and ducks. There is also a rare picture of an early Fairlie Primary class in the collection. The grounds of the old school, which closed in the mid-1990s, were recently spruced up, and the building and surroundings are owned by the Narducci family of Largs.
