A luxury cruiser will be sailing out of Fairlie for the coming weeks and returning again later in the year.
The exclusive Hebridean Princess - which has a crew of 38 to cater for just 49 guests - has "an enviable reputation for exceptional service, fine food and wine" and 30 spacious cabins for its cruises of the highlands and islands of Scotland, lochs and remote mainland areas.
She mainly departs from Oban for the western isles and beyond to St Kilda, the Orkney and Shetland Isles, and Norway, before returning via the Northern Isles in August.
However, from Monday, 1st March, she was departing from Fairlie Pier - and again on the 6th, 11th and 18th - for such destinations as Arran, Inveraray, Crinan, the Holy Loch, Campbeltown, Loch Goil and the Kyles of Bute.
From 25th, the Hebridean Princess will resume departures from Oban, though she will return to Fairlie from 4th November, with further sailings taking place from the village pier on 11th and 16th.
Largs man Gordon Law pointed out that the vessel is the former Caledonian MacBrayne ferry Columba, which used to sail to Mull, but became privately owned in 1989. She is now owned by Hebridean Island Cruises.
