A man has been arrested in connection with battering a car using a golf club.

The incident happened in Keppenburn Avenue in Fairlie last Wednesday at 11.45pm. Residents in the street were woken up by shouting outside the house and witnessed a man swearing and waving a golf club at the bottom of their driveway.

He was asked to go away but instead became abusive, before striking the vehicle with the golf club.

The police attended and they observed a man making off from the location. A 26 year old from Fairlie was later arrested in connection with the incident.
