Politicians and residents' leaders are uniting to call for action to be taken to prevent another horror accident in Fairlie.

Calls have gone out for a new traffic order to keep heavy lorries out of the village main road which is the narrowest part of the A78.

Community Councillor David Telford says that a fatal accident inquiry should be held so that all of the authorities, the coal company and Clydeport ore terminal have to be accountable for the lorry crash which killed Catherine Bonner, 55, as she sat watching tv in her home on Thursday.
