Blade runner ... Ian Dalgleish took this photo at 3pm on Sunday 28 December at Hunterston, showing the first of the new turbine’s blades being hoisted into place.
The first turbine was built by Siemens, and the current construction is by Mitsubishi and is expected to be 200m in height.
SSE are understood to be in talks with another company concerning a third turbine at the site.
