Police are investigating after a 23 year old worker was found dead at Clydeport terminal at Hunterston on Sunday evening.
The ‘News’ understands that he had been carrying out repairs on the crane before being found dead at 10.20pm.
The death is being treated as unexplained, and a post-mortem is set to take place.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 10.20pm on Sunday, the body of 23-year-old man was discovered in a crane at the Hunterston terminal in Largs.
“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of his death.
“However, at this time, it is being treated as unexplained.”
