Ardgowan Estate can always rely upon its hardy snowdrops to battle on regardless and, once again, we’re not to be disappointed as they are already pushing up through the estate policies in readiness for the big event.
Sir Ludovic is looking forward to welcoming visitors on Sunday 8 February when the estate takes part in Visit Scotland’s annual Snowdrop Festival which runs from 31 January to 15th March.
Ardgowan will be supporting Scotland’s Garden Scheme charities as well as Ardgowan Hospice this year. Wellies and walking boots will be essential to walk the snowdrop walk (buggies NOT recommended) and tea/coffee and home-baking will be served in the front hall at Ardgowan House as usual.
The Friends of Ardgowan Hospice will be manning their stalls and there will be bunches of snowdrops and plants for sale. The estate will be open from 2-5pm with vehicular access from the Bankfoot Roundabout entrance only; entry costs £2; refreshments £2; children under 10 enter free.
Ardgowan Estate is approximately one mile beyond Inverkip at Bankfoot Roundabout, turn left on to A770, and the entrance is 50 metres on your left.
