Tree damage

The strong winds did some damage in Inverkip/ I do know that Station Avenue had to have cones put round the fallen parts of a tree till it could be removed. This was one of the original trees that were in the field that became Willow Place. Telephone cables were pulled down and the original fence of the field was damaged.

Name Needed

West Coast Woodfuels which are located at the former water works building which is on the stretch of road from Millhouse Road to the Daff Reservoir have applied to have the road named. The business is finding that customers cannot locate them and have requested that the name Langhill Road should be used.

Community Council

The Community Council meets on Thursday 7th at 7pm in Inverkip Primary School.

Inverkip Woman’s Institute

I’m still having difficulty in the change of name for the Woman’s Rural Institute. The first meeting of the Institute is on 11th January when Bill Clark will talk on Holiday Photos. The competition is for a photo of the Village- current. And a photo frame. The meeting is in the Bonomy Room of the Church hall at 7.30pm

A warm welcome is extended to those wishing to join or come as a visitor.

Flooding

Now that the water has stopped flowing on the hill between Inverkip and Largs as mentioned before attention has focused on the “ford” at Strathclyde House as featured in last week's paper. Also looming will be the need for drainage on the land at the Power Station site which is to be built on.
