Scout Notes
A busy time for the 85th Group recently, the scouts paid a visit to Glasgow Sikh Gurdwara where they learned about Sikh history and sampled traditional food. The Beavers had a tree planting exercise at Everton when the planted 105 new trees from the Woodland Trust part of the Beavers 30th Birthday celebration.
Lights on for Christmas Trees
Inverkip and Wemyss Bay had their Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies on Friday. Entertainment was laid on at Inverkip with singing, and dancing and stalls. There was music at Wemyss Bay light switch on with a brass band playing and the school choir singing before the lights were switched on.
Inverkip Guild
The Guild are having their Christmas Meal in Inverkip Hotel on 13 December before the break for Christmas The next meeting of the New Year is on 10 January with Crafts by Faye Gillies.
Singers
Skelmorlie, Wemyss Bay and Inverkip Fellowship - The Da Capo Singers will be performing at Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Church on 9 December at 7.30pm. There will be tickets to buy at the door for anyone wishing to attend.
Inverkip Church
Inverkip Church held their Gift Service on Sunday and the congregation brought their presents for children and these will be given to the Salvation Army to distribute.
Scout Post
Anyone wishing Christmas Cards delivered in Inverkip and Wemyss Bay will have the opportunity to use the Scout Post. Cards can be left in the special boxes in the church or the church hall. Reminder that it is only the two places they deliver to and a donation to the group is most welcome for the service.
Bio Mass
Ardgowan has had permission to install a Bio Mass heating system.
Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Church
The church is looking for members willing to distribute the Christmas Cards collected from the Congregation. There is a charge of 25p per card for delivery in Skelmorlie.
Friday Soup
Friday 9th will be the last Soup day at the Church at 12.30. On offer for a special Christmas meal will be Soup, Filled rolls, Desert, mince pies, tablet and tea or coffee.
Stained Glass
Skelmorlie Stained Glass Artist has an exhibition of his work at the Beacon Centre. Alec Galloway has a piece of his work installed at Inverkip Hotel.
