25 Years of Country Dancing

Skelmorlie Country Dancing group celebrated 25year since there inception recently. Friends from Inverkip Church group were present to see Margaret Cunningham who started the group and the present teacher Helen Howie cut the special cake to mark the event.

Local Development Plan

There has been a consultation regarding the plans for local development. This was discussing on where and how future development will take place in Inverclyde. This is looking ahead to 2024 and beyond.

The decision on how much land is required for new housing development and possible locations. Discussions have been on going regarding the Spango Valley site. Anyone wishing to have there say has until 31st May to do so.

No School Holiday

Inverkip Primary have for years closed for any elections however now the Community Hub is open voting will take place there from now on.

Street Pastors

The group of people called Street pastors who volunteer to go our especially at week ends in Greenock to offer words of advice or help to people they meet, are in talks with the authorities as they are keen to introduce Rail Pastors in Inverclyde especially on the Wemyss Bay line.

Parents and Toddlers

Inverkip Hub is holding parent and Toddlers sessions on Wednesday’s from 12-1.30pm. Further information can be had by calling 521740.

Celebration of Scouting

The 85th Scouts will be taking part in the celebrations of Scouting on the Sunday May 21. Each group have been allotted a country and Inverkip and Wemyss Bay group will be giving their view on Sweden.

Friends of Wemyss Bay Station

The AGM of the group will be on Thursday May 13 at 2pm in Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Church.
