Beach Clean
Inverkip Eco Group joined the recent Beach Clean at Lunderston Bay and sad to say 41Kg of rubbish was collected. Some of course washed up onto the beach but it has to come from someone! Well done to those involved. The rubbish will be analysed to determine what or where it comes from.
Broken Glass
It was reported that there was broken glass in the children’s play park at Wemyss Bay on Sunday morning.
Football Mascot
When Paris St Germain played in Glasgow recently one young lad Jayden Singh from Inverkip was lucky enough to be chosen as a mascot and got to walk on with that famous expensive player Neymar.
Dangerous Driving
Not for the first time the A78 has seen dangerous driving. On Tuesday morning a car decided to overtake a cyclist on a bend and then had to pull in as a car was coming in the opposite direction. The cyclist just managed to avoid being pushed over the railings into the Clyde. The speeding in the 30mph zone of Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay is being broken most days.
Wemyss Bay Youth Club
The Club has begun it’s winter session. Meeting in the Community Centre cost £1.
W.E.A
Meeting in Skelmorlie Community Centre the W.E.A.’s next talk is by Val Reilly entitled “Coats and Clarks”- the Binding Thread in Paisley’s History. Tea and Coffee available from 9.30 am before the talk.
Inverkip Country Dancing
The Country Dancing has started their new session on a Thursday in the Church Hall at 7.30pm. Anyone who would like to take part is most welcome.
Messy Church
Inverkip Church have their next Messy Church on 30th September. 10.30-12.30am. Children up to Primary 7 welcome.
Bible Study
The meeting of the Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Bible Study Group had to be postponed recently. The next meeting is on Tuesday 3rd October at 2.15pm
Quiz Night
New date for the annual Quiz Night held by Inverkip Church at the Inverkip Bowling Green is Friday 13the October at 7.30pm Tickets £3 are available.
New Pay Machines
Wemyss Bay Station car park are to have new machines installed. These will be Pay with card or contactless.
Inverkip Institute
The next meeting is on 9th October in the Bonomy Room of Church Hall at 7.30pm. The talk is entitled “Just a bucket and spade”. New members welcome. Bring your own mug please.
