Major £600,000 resurfacing works are due to take place in April which will result in a road closure between Largs and Skelmorlie over successive weekends, but businesses have hit out at the timing of the move.
Road maintenance contractors Transerv met Largs and Skelmorlie community councillors this week to alert them to the provisional plans which would result in a long diversion route for people travelling back and forward to Greenock.
It has been proposed for the Largs North Gateway resurfacing to take place between 6-9 April, and then Skelmorlie south between 13-16 April.
However the first weekend of the works falls on the second weekend of the Easter holidays, and business owner John Corrigan has called for the dates to be put back a week.
Largs and Skelmorlie Community Councils have backed the closure.
