A new group to evoke memories of great sporting moments is launching this month in Largs for people living with dementia.
The pilot event for the project is taking place at the Masonic hall in Frazer Street, Largs, on Thursday 26 February from 5-7pm.
It gives the opportunity to reminisce on great sporting events over the years, and stimulate chat and conversation.
Largs Thistle Football Club have also come on board and are providing photos of the Scottish Cup victory in 1994 for the event which is being run by the Dementia Support Service in North Ayrshire.
Co-ordinator Lawrence Lindsay said: “We will be reflecting on sporting events over the years, to encourage chat and conversation of memories of great moments of years gone by. It is aimed at people living with dementia, and there will be fun quizzes and activities. It is all about reminiscing about the past in a nice and relaxing environment.” For more details, contact Lawrence on 01294 550321 or 07766 710 702.
