P1-4 have started learning their Burns poems in preparation for the Largs Cronies Burns Competition on 1st February.

P5 have started our new novel, The Desperate Journey’. We are looking forward to learning about what happens to the Murray family on their travels. As part of our novel study we are also learning about the Highland Clearances and what happened to families like the Murray’s who were forced to flee their land and make their home elsewhere.

P6 have started reading The Butterfly Lion and enjoyed sampling Semolina Pudding, a dislike of one of the characters in the book. They have also started learning about substance misuse.

P7 have begun their decision making topic by looking at democracy, its history and how it is implemented in different ways. They have also been looking at personal image and how to portray oneself as a confident and successful individual, very important in the world of politics! They have written about a time when they have had to make an important decision and the consequences of that decision.
