Members of award winning Largs BB band took part in the Boys Brigade Parade in Kilbirnie on Sunday.
This is because the North Ayrshire Battalion of the Boys Brigade held their annual church parade and this year they came to Kilbirnie Auld Kirk.
Approx 200 boys and their leaders met up at Paddockholm Industrial Estate and paraded to the Auld Kirk via Munro Drive.
They came from Irvine, Largs and various towns in between. Led by the award winning Pipes and Drums of 1st Largs, the parade was supported by parents and locals who came out to watch them go past. The Boys Brigade would like to thank the Auld Kirk for the warm welcome they received and to Reverend David Whiteman, himself a former BB boy, for the fun filled service as he led our young people in the action packed songs of worship. Thanks also to fellow 1st Kilbirnie chaplain Rev Fiona Ross for offering the reading. When the service was finished, they reformed the parade in the town’s Central Avenue and paraded back to Paddockholm. The chaplains along with Battalion President Iain Laird took a salute from the parade in front of the war memorial as they went past. Next year, the Battalion parade will be visiting Bourtreehill where 1st Irvine will host the parade.
