10, 9, 8, 7 ... The famous spaceman of Largs is set for a special unveiling ceremony this weekend.
It is one small step for man, and one giant leap for the Blue Lagoon as the true identity of the mysterious astronaut is set to be revealed.
The unveiling takes place at around midday on Saturday at a place that locals are aptly naming 'Spaceman Corner'.
Director of Blue Lagoon Space Travel, Alessandro Varesi is already making the big countdown to Saturday's big reveal.
He said: "We have thought about replacing the spaceman with something a little bit different; some customers may have noticed the new spaceman has had a bag over his head in recent weeks, and all will be revealed on Saturday.
"This weekend we unveil the spaceman's true identity, and we don't think it is what people will be expecting!
"As everyone knows, distance is no object for a Blue Lagoon chippy, and we are urging customers to upload your spaceman selfie on to our Blue Lagoon Facebook page to win a free fish and chips. It will all kick off at 12 midday this Saturday."
It has been two years since the NASA astronaut touched down in Largs town centre, and the Blue Lagoon have been delighted with the local reaction, pointing out that some have even called the area 'Spaceman Corner'.
Alessandro added: "Our spaceman has been very successful, and he even walked the streets of Largs last summer, something we plan to do again later in the year. The reveal is a homage to a famous movie ... we will leave people guessing till we have blast off at midday on Saturday."
