A 12 year old girl had to be freed after becoming 'trapped between rocks' on Largs beach on Wednesday evening.
It took over 90 minutes for the girl to be freed after she became unconscious twice and suffered 'a lot of pain'.
The incident happened after the 12 year old's leg was stuck in a rocky area of the shore.
There was a full emergency response involving police, Scottish Fire and Rescue, RNLI, coastguard and ambulance at around 7.30pm.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: “We responded to call involving a 12-year-old girl who had got her leg stuck between rocks near Largs beach."
The girl was subsequently taken to a safer location by lifeboat before being taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital by ambulance, reported to be suffering from a lower leg injury.
The spokesman continued: “She was given pain relief by the ambulance service and her leg was manipulated until it was free.”
