P1 This week P1 have been very creative exploring colour mixing. They have been learning French classroom nouns e.g La gomme, le crayon, la porte etc. The children have been busy writing their own stories.

P2 are enjoying doing lots of learning through the context of the 'Giraffes Can't Dance' story. They created fantastic sketches of their own dancing giraffes. They incorporated their learning about Pointillism to add colour. We are also learning how to measure in metres and centimetres and completing lots of active challenges around this.

P3 are looking forward to working with Jiaxing to learn a song in Mandarin which they will perform at the Ayrshire summer show.

P4/3 are working extremely hard to learn our songs for the summer concert. They sound amazing and we look forward to the performance.

P5 have been creating imaginative stories detailing what they think may have happened if another chapter had been added to the novel 'The Desperate Journey'. The children were very eager to write their own stories and have produced some excellent pieces of work. The "working buzz" in the classroom was phenomenal. What was even more outstanding was the way they applied previous learning in their writing too. Well done P5! They have also been mapping key places in Canada relating to their novel.

P6 have been learning about the harmful effects of smoking on the body. They are also creating and preparing their sponsor wacky race they are running to support our Lenten charity.

P7 used what they have learned in their Decision Making topic to make quizzes and puzzles for their peers. Working in groups they used various sites to create Cryptograms, crosswords, word searches, cloze procedures and more within a given timeframe. A very enjoyable challenge! They have written about what decisions they would make if they were First Minister. Some very interesting bills will be passed in the future should any of the class go into politics!
