The newly fitted RNLI Souvenir Shop at the Lifeboat Station was finished in time to fully open for last month's fundraising walks.

It has been redesigned with new colours, and new fitments - all of which make it appear more bright and spacious and ready to sell a wide range of 2017 souvenirs.

During the recent local lifeboat fun walk, it took in £100 in one morning alone, and is an important fundraiser for helping to save lives.

It has a been a busy time of fundraising for the local lifeboat in recent months, with the popular supper dance at Nardini's, a recent Tesco v Largs Thistle football match fundraiser, and a cake and candy sale at the local Wetherspoons.

Call into the shop and pick up a gift or souvenir with a great choice of homewares, clothing, tasty treats, toys, greeting cards and much much more.

From June to September, the lifeboat shop at the RNLI station in Greenock Road is generally open from Monday-Sunday 1.30pm-4.30pm.

The shops is run by volunteers, and all profits help save lives at sea. The local lifeboat rely on volunteers to keep their shops open.

Therefore, opening times may be subject to change. If you're planning a special trip, please phone ahead - 01475 670147.

* The poor weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the organisers and the supporters of the RNLI in their latest fundraising efforts. Now that the contributions have been added up, the almost final total made on the May Day Walks and the activities at the Lifeboat Station on the day was over £1200. Last week was the annual Street Collection, and despite a very wet morning, over £1000 was collected during the day.

The committee would like to thank all the volunteers, supporters and crew who helped in any way with those events, and particularly the good, generous people of Largs and around, along with the visitors, all of whom contributed to helping save lives on the water.
