Costa Del Sol, a nun on the run, a Largs seagull and a world premiere musical...all in the one evening.

Yes, it's the 24th consecutive year of the Summer Theatre, taking place at the Clubroom in Lounge in Largs Main Street from Thursday and Friday of this week.

It's a new venue for Largs Players and a new format for the popular holiday entertainment with shows starting at 7.30pm. Over the five weeks there will be eight performances.

Although the Clubroom is undergoing refurbishment the stage will be laid out for the familiar and some new faces in the Players show which this year will help raise money for brain and head injury charities.

Seasoned actors Jon Wilkin and Angie Kelly will be a bickering couple on a Torremolinos holiday, followed by a zany farce featuring veterans George Whitestone and Gordon McMurray in a tale of a nun escaping a convent. Guest performer Alison Green will also appear as the Seagull Commander.

As if that wasn't enough there will be a world premiere musical called Invisible in the second half with local actors Drew Cochrane, George Whitestone and Pat Nicol alongside some debut performers from SHIMS (Scottish Head Injuries Music Support) group in a toe tapping entertainment.

Tickets (£8) can be pre-booked at Lounge (01475 689968)who are also offering a special £10 two course pre-theatre meal and there will be admission at the door from 7pm.
