The town centre manager behind the Largs BID campaign John Hamilton is set to leave for pastures new following his organisation of last Sunday's classic car show on the seafront.
The news comes after the latest festival event, the classic car show on Largs seafront, attracted thousands to Largs Prom to see over 80 classic vehicles including MGs, Fords, Morris Minors and Minis.
A spokeswoman for the Largs BID group said: "Such is his reputation as the Explore Largs BID Manager and the achievements he and his team have accomplished for the town, John has been head hunted to work on a major project for one of the country’s top international suppliers.
"John has played an important role in helping to deliver the BID business plan over the last four years. The quality TV advertisement and social media films which he produced were game changers in raising awareness of Largs as a tourist destination, with the ads and films being seen over 14 million times to date.
"He’s worked on the creation and development of Largs Food Fest, Largs Live, and Largs Classic Cars festivals which attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Largs. These visitors have spent almost £800,000 in the town, which would not have been spent here if the events had not happened.
"John also brought fireworks to the town centre at Yuletide launch night when he negotiated the use of the ferry pier as the lighting location. He has also attracted additional funding of nearly £100,000 to help pay for Largs BID initiatives
