The Rotary Club in Largs is continuing to be a successful model for all other such groups, with a solid membership, and a busy schedule of fundraising events.

After a recent car boot sale at St Columba's Episcopal Church, the committee are now planning for their family fun event - the annual rubber duck race at the Gogo Burn on Saturday September 2 at noon. Sponsor forms will be available to the public on the day.

Largs Rotary Club was pleased to welcome District Governor, Gary Louttit, as a visitor to speak at Tuesday meeting. Gary spoke very highly of the club's efforts in fundraising during the past year, having done his homework, prior to addressing the members.

He passed on the latest information he had gathered whilst attending various conferences of the parent body the R.G.B & I.

The Largs club, with an active membership of 31, is one of the most vibrant and progressive clubs in the district.

After thanking the Members for their hospitality, he commented on the quality of the lunch provided by the Willowbank Hotel, it must be one of the best Rotary venues in district 1230.

The recent car-boot sale raised £480 to kick-start the club's charity account for the coming year, thanks to all who attended, on a sunny day.

The recently appointed Brisbane Ambassador, Sam Templeton, from the Largs Academy, was on hand to assist at the setting-up of the car-boot sale.

We hope to see more of Sam at future events, continuing the link between the club and Largs Academy.
