There was a problem with the ticket machine at the Largs seafront car park last Wednesday morning.

Three people were seen working on it at 10.30am.

A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “There was a temporary problem at Largs car park as both entry machines suffered technical issues at the same time.

“However, we responded quickly to ensure users could access the car park and will be carrying out further work on the entry machines in the coming days to minimise the risk of a similar issue arising in future.”

Cheaper prices were introduced at the Largs seafront car park last summer to entice users. Councillors decided to alter the parking tariff with one hour costing only £1. Between one hour and three hours will cost £3, and motorists will be charged £4 for over three hours.
