A plan has been submitted to North Ayrshire Council which would see the Post Office move from its Main Street location to Gallowgate Square, and would also include a cafeteria.
The site has been a restaurant twice in the past, and has also served as the SNP shop, and a clothes shop.
The applicants are Susan and David Craddock, and it is planned for the new shop to be open all week, including Sunday.
In their planning statement, the Craddocks set out their hopes and aspirations for the development.
