The Largs Inner Wheel is ready to start its new session with a new President, and a new syllabus for its monthly meetings and other activities, so what it wants now are some new members!

So why join? The Inner Wheel is a female organisation run by ladies who are caring, giving, doing, and who work together to make a difference in communities at home and abroad. It has members in 104 countries. Through meeting regularly with a varied programme of activities, friendships have been built and maintained throughout the world.

The Largs branch was founded in 1981 and it has promoted its aims and welcomed new members into a network of friendship and support ever since. But the number of members has dropped in recent years and it is looking to interest other local people to join. The club meets on every third Tuesday of the month at the Willowbank Hotel and has a mixture of business and a social gathering, an evening meal and a guest speaker.

The new President, Catherine Black, said: “We have a varied programme including Life in Africa, Working with the Media, Aloe Vera, and an overseas visitor. There is a Christmas Party and two Coffee Mornings with all monies going to local and global charities—7 local charities benefited from our fundraising this year” There is also a summer outing—last month to Brownings Bakery where members really enjoyed a tour, a Lunch of their products and were even each given a large goody bag to take home!!

The first meeting is on September 19, and is a meet and greet evening—more informal than some of the others—so there is plenty of opportunity to join in or just listen to the Inner Wheel’s plans! So why not give it a try? Experience the feel good factor of helping others, and promoting and experiencing friendships. If you would like any further information, you are welcome to contact Caroline Berwick on 01475 673696 who added “we are very keen to interest new members and everyone can be assured of a warm welcome.”
