There are only three weeks to go till opening night of a Broadway show on the Barrfields stage in Largs.

Following their Full Monty and Caledonia USA sell-out shows the Players will present another dazzling musical under the guidance of talented young director Ruairidh Forde and musical director Ryan Moir from Thursday to Saturday, October 5 to 7.

Signed up in the massive lead role of Rose is Kirsty Campbell with a great supporting cast, including some of the most talented local youngsters, including Ruby McGill and Megan Wigzell who will take on the younger versions of performing sisters played by Karen Wilkin and Gill Sullivan.

Allan Milligan as Herbie takes on the principal male role with Hugh Douglas and Drew Cochrane also featuring.

The musical - considered as one of the best ever American theatre stories - contains many songs that became popular standards, including "Everything's Coming up Roses", "Together (Wherever We Go)", "Let Me Entertain You", "All I Need Is the Girl", and "Rose's Turn".The music is by Jule Styne with lyrics by the legendary Stephen Sondheim.
