School children in the Largs area were given the opportunity to find out more about sustainable fishing and its importance in Seafood Week at the Fish Works on Tuesday.
The award winning takeaway on Largs seafront has joined forces with Seafish's national campaign to encourage people to eat more fish.
Sampling the wonderful fish and seafood from the River Clyde is a tantalising delicacy in the classiest of restaurants on the continent, so why not explore some of these delicious dishes on your doorstep closer to home?
The stylish seafront takeaway will be celebrating Seafood Week 2017 from 6-13 October by having lots of new seafood recipes each day with a number of mouthwatering specials, some of which are delivered straight from their doorstep quite literally at Largs harbour.
Co-owner Tiffany Irvin said: "The langoustines are freshly delivered by local fisherman Ian Wightman, and they are delivered every day, so it is as local as it comes."
"We will finish the week by donating 10% of all fish and chips sales for the whole weekend 13-15 October to the RNLI - it's simple, it's fun, and it saves lives."
