A Roman Catholic nun who helped lepers in Pakistan is to be remembered by Christian and Muslim communities at a Largs Church.
The Clark Memorial Church in Largs is hosting the memorial service for Sister Ruth Pfau who has been heralded as the ‘Mother Theresa’ of Pakistan for her work with people suffering from leprosy.
The Christian service is open to members of the Muslim community to share in worship in tribute to Sister Pfau who died in August, following a heartfelt request from Star of India business owner Fida Hussain, who hails from Pakistan, made the request about having a Largs church service in her honour for Sister Pfau’s humanitarian work going back decades.
The service will be held by Clark Memorial Church minister Reverend David Watson, and locum minister Rev. Sandy McCallum, on Thursday at 10.30am.
