Largs Players president Pat Nicol has got a part in panto which she can really get her teeth into.....as a Tunnock's Teacake!

Only in the wacky world of pantomime could one of the characters be a Scottish delicacy but Pat is sure she won't 'crumble' under the pressure of her comic role in 'Beauty And The Beast'.

After all, the seasoned actress has been popping up in Players' pantos at Barrfields Pavilion Theatre for 30 years, having been principal boy, and principal girl,(not at the same time), the good fairy and, last year, the wicked queen in Snow White.

In fact, having just appeared as one of the strippers in the highly successful Gypsy musical Pat is looking forward to being fully dressed...or should that be 'wrapped up' as Miss Teacake 2017.

Keeping her company in the Beast's magic castle will be many enchanted objects, dreamed up by professional panto writer Alan McHugh, adapted and directed by Laura Edison. Experienced performer Linda McMurray makes a return to the local stage as the opera singing Madame Ikea (wood you believe it?) There is a host of great characters with the principals being Katie Bell as Beauty, Matthew Wilkin as the Beast and the comeback king, Jon Wilkin as Dame Betty Brisbane.

Director/choreographer Laura has introduced a whole host of characters to the Disney classic to bring the show to life.

Tickets are selling well for the four shows from Thursday, December 7 to Saturday, December 9 when two shows will run at 1.30pm and 6.30pm, available at www.ticketsource.co.uk/largsplayers
