Largs Academy’s Legacy Open Evening is happening on Wednesday 15 November. On the night, there will be the opportunity for former pupils and members of the public to come and visit the school building for one last time between 7pm to 9pm. The Legacy Committee and History department have been working hard to make it a fitting farewell to the school.

There will be many different items showcased throughout the evening. Visit your old classrooms and see if your seat is still there; visit the maths department where a selection of historical maths items will be on display, see photo stories of past school trips, staff members and major events. Learn about our school’s Mary’s Meals partnership in the Geography department, and visit our senior hospitality pupils in Home Economics for some refreshments. There will be young writers on hand in the English department, sharing their work and various displays of photos from throughout the years. Visit the music department to listen to some of our excellent young performers. A highlight is sure to be the Legacy Choir (comprising former and current pupils) performing a medley of all your favourite school show tunes at 7pm and 8pm in the Assembly Hall. Come along and spot your former school friends!

Also on hand in every department will be many members of teaching staff and current pupils who are there for a chat about the history of the school. The night will celebrate four decades of a school that has seen thousands through their formative years.

The school closes in March 2018, as the secondary moves to the new Largs Campus near Alexander Avenue.
