The Largs Academy Legacy Evening proved to be a very popular event for past pupils and current classes in a meeting of the generations.

On the night, there was the opportunity for former pupils and members of the public to come and visit the school building for one last time.

The Legacy Committee and History department have worked hard to make it a fitting farewell to the school.

There were many different items showcased throughout the evening, and it was possible to visit your old classrooms and see if your seat was still there; visit the maths department where a selection of historical maths items were on display.

There was also the opportunity to see photo stories of past school trips, staff members and major events.

Largs Boys Brigade also received a cheque for £3000 from the The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative - an active citizenship programme that raises awareness amongst young people about philanthropy and their local community. Each participating school, each year is responsible for directing a £3000 YPI Grant to a local charity through a unique programme of team work, research and competition. YPI Scotland is all about creativity and passion, leaving the four walls of the classroom behind, and supporting the issues young people care most about.

Thanks to Academy pupil Ryan Scott for the photos.
