Shaping the future of Largs is key behind a new questionnaire which is available for residents and businesses.

Explore Largs - the brand behind the Largs Business Improvement District Group - have set up the Facebook survey as an 'additional part of the overall assessment of the best way forward for Largs'.

The survey asks a short number of questions in relation to parking, access, infrastructure, local landmarks, travel, and industry to be rated from 1 to 10. You can access it online here: surveys.listen-up.uk/s/LargsDOTPublic/

A spokeswoman for Explore Largs said: "The survey is indicative of the desire overall to capture a wide range of views. A tablet with the questionnaire is also placed in the Co-op in Gallowgate Street, for anyone who wishes to reply and are not on social media.

"In addition, levy paying businesses in Largs are being sent more in-depth questionnaires. Other face to face sessions are being planned."

Explore Largs is taking part in a pilot project to develop Community and Business Investment Districts.

Led by Phil Prentice of Scotland's Towns Partnership the aim is to harness the power of some of the biggest businesses operating in our town centres, involve more intense public sector input and inspire greater support from local communities.

Five years ago, over 300 local businesses were asked to vote in favour of the Largs BID (Business Improvement District) which requires a levy charge from each business, with a renewal ballot due to take place in early 2018.
