Thanks to Skelmorlie's Stuart McVey for snow efforts during Beast from the East

Barbara Stewart of Skelmorlie phoned up the 'News' office to thank volunteer Stuart McVey for taking time of his work over Thursday and Friday to transport nurses and carers back and forward from the local area to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in his 4x4 vehicle during the severe winter weather. She said: "I feel he has done a great job and should get recognition."
Meanwhile, there were terrific efforts to clean the roadways of snow after a snow plough had a struggle at Skelmorlie Glen Road, while the roadway at the fire station was also cleared by volunteers.
