MEMBERS of the public have a chance to shape future planning strategy on housing, leisure and business.
A number of public consultation events are being arranged to look at how the future development of the district should move forward.
North Ayrshire Council will spend nine weeks gathering the views of local people about its local development plan.
The important blueprint sets out how the council will guide development and investment in the area over the next 20 years.
The proposed plan was recently approved by the council’s cabinet and now local people can have their say
tCouncillor Alex Gallagher, cabinet member for economy, said: “The local development plan is important to North Ayrshire’s future prosperity.
"It sets out how land will be used and provides a framework to guide development.
"We are keen to hear from as many local residents and businesses as possible.
“As a council, we remain ambitious for our area, residents and our businesses.
"We have exciting plans and great partnerships that will help us succeed.
"I would encourage everyone to come along."
The consultation runs until Friday June 29.
People can comment on the plan either in writing, by completing a survey or attending one of the consultation events.
The programme is as follows: Tuesday May 15 at Fairlie Village Hall 2pm – 5pm; Thursday May 17 at Largs Library 10am – 1pm, Thursday May 24 at West Kilbride Village Hall 3pm–8pm, Tuesday June 5 at Garrison House, Millport 3pm – 7.30pm
