Warren Park Nursing Home in Largs is participating in Dignity Action Day and looking for some green fingers volunteers to help in a spot of gardening!
Dignity Action Day is a UK-wide event which asks health and social care staff and members of the public to take action on or around February 25th to promote the dignity of people receiving care.
Annette McConnachie, Home Manager, said: "We would be looking to encourage people in the community to volunteer to assist us with this pledge in giving us a few hours of their time on 25th February to spend in the garden and also if anyone would like to donate any gardening tools/gloves/ plants/ pots etc to help make our garden a nice place.
"With such a gorgeous view from our home, we are in the process of bringing our garden up to a standard of beauty to further compliment our Home. In doing this we will help our residents to maintain their pride, dignity, respect etc and with help from staff, I.e carers, activities, maintenance, kitchen assistants, families, friends interaction we will help achieve a better quality of life with Dignity In Care. We will all endeavour to assist with materials such as plants, tools, seeds, vegetable patch, ideas and assistance from all."
Anyone interested should contact Annette at Warren Park for more information. Contact 01475 686 057.
