Opening day to Tesco attracted plenty of shoppers ... and a thief.
It did not take long for a thief to test the security at the new Tesco premises as a shoplifter was caught on the opening day of the new store last Wednesday.
A 36 year old woman from Largs has been charged in connection with two shoplifting offences in Largs including Tesco and the Semi Chem premises in Tron Place.
The Tesco incident happened at 4.20pm in which staff witnessed a woman enter the store and leave with a bottle of wine in a polythene bag which was not Tesco branded.
It transpired that the same woman allegedly stole two bottle of perfume from Semi Chem. Police traced the female and she was subsequently arrested.
