A well-known young Largs woman was lucky to escape with her life after a horrific car collision in Los Angeles.
Passenger Louisa Hezseltine, a former Largs Academy pupil and a leading actress from Largs Players, suffered serious back injuries following the accident in which the driver lost his life.
Louisa's parents have travelled directly to the States after the incident to be with their daughter as she recovers from the injuries.
The horror incident occurred on Friday February 5 after the car in which Louisa was travelling in, a Honda Civic, collided with a Mercedez-Benz just south of the Gavin Canyon near Calgrove Boulevard, according to a Californian Highway Patrol report.
Honda driver Julius Glover, 22, died following the crash, and had been driving at a legal speed limit in rainy conditions at around 9.40pm when his car was struck, police reports have stated.
