Two 15 year old girls were caught shoplifting in Morrisons supermarket in Largs last Thursday at 1pm.
A member of Largs Academy staff had approached the pupils in the premises on suspicion that they had stolen property from within the school. However, it then became apparent that the two offenders had stolen items from within the store and the police were contacted.
After a police interview, the pair from Largs and Wemyss Bay were cautioned and charged with stealing a quantity of confectionary and dvds from the supermarket. They will be reported to the Children's Panel.
The Largs girl is also being reported in connection with stealing a purse, and an ipod, belonging to a fellow pupil after an incident at 12 midday on the same day.
