Cycling along the foreshore at Largs has become extremely popular but has also resulted in a few difficulties for some walkers who are hoping to enjoy a relaxing stroll.
The local landscape from West Kilbride to Inverkip, and of course cycle capital Millport, are also popular areas for cyclists while Sir Chris Hoy has been a true ambassador for the sport since winning Olympic gold leads to a cycle revolution.
However, the letters page in the Largs and Millport Weekly News in recent weeks has included a variety of opinions from pedestrians and cyclists.

Nikki Cowpe and Cameron Orr.
This week, the 'News' asks the public for their views and whether it is possible for cyclists and pedestrians to live harmoniously together. We went to dog walking country at Bowen Craig to find out...
Nikki Cowpe said: "I don't have much of a problem with cyclists and by and large, they seem quite reasonable by slowing down or ringing their bell, and they let you know they are there. I walk my dogs down at Bowen Craig and I have to say, I have had one or two problems with cyclists who sometimes use it as a race track - it is not the Tour de France! As long as they are sensible and show decorum, I don't think there should be a problem."
Cameron Orr, 18, of Fairlie said: "The cyclists tend to slow down. I think they should slow down, particularly at the narrow areas of the path. A new cycle path might at Bowen Craig might be a solution to the problem. There is plenty of grassy areas so cyclists can keep out of the way."
Gran Catherine Kane, who was visiting from Bishopton, said: "A new cycle path might be a good idea - it is not exactly a friendly trunk road out there so they need somewhere to go."
