Police investigate masonic 'fraud'

Police have confirmed that they are investigating an alleged fraud at the masonic lodge in Frazer Street, Largs.

The 'News' understands that enquiries are continuing after a sum of money has gone missing from the premises due to an alleged embezzlement in the bar area.

A police spokesman would not be drawn on the details of the case other than to say: "A matter has been reported to police. Community policing is involved.

"There are no charges at present and enquiries are ongoing. The police are looking into the situation."
